Choices of Martial Arts Sensei.

- Should Morality of Sensei be considered, or only his Martial Prowess?
- i think both. we do NOT Protect by commiting atrocites (Atrocity = Cruelty, Crime, War Crime).

Movement in a Fight Position, Unarmed & Armed.

Introduction.

Even if those such as Great Miyamoto Musashi can refuse to believe in certain fighting positions, movement types or similar, many weaker Martial Adepts can find them useful in many situations.

Weakness of such positions is that they require preparation. Fighting on beach sand in boots is different from bare-footed fighting on a wooden floor, or a tatami mat. Easier to slip in mud, more difficult to move while knee-deep in Sea water and so on...

Fight Position(s) & Movement, Training.

Fight Position i learned to a certain degree is imperfect, as are Moves extended from such.

Fight Positions & Moves are parts of a Martial Art Styles & Fights, as is Training them to Perfection, more or less attainable.

Our style requires keeping guard 'up' for long time even if one feels pain or is tired by fight. It requires awareness, focus & body balance, lowered stance (bent knees a little while standing, but back still straight upwards) for a fast movements & body balance. It's difficult but attainable in about 4 years of training, if one cares. It requires physical form, for it's tiring.

When we add a weapon, even as light as a survival / combat knife, balance shifts noticeably, especially when a strike is extended... i don't know how long it'll take me to train proper strikes, enough to be combined with legwork, body balance & 'final accent' - moment when strike speeds up, as we add 'body mass' to increase Force (F=m·a2). Different attack distances have to be trained separately and then joined properly into fluid attack combinations with legwork, as well as joined with different rotations of blade - hand can rotate to left or right as blade's strike is extended.

Details of our Style with already-trained (even if a little) position(s), moves & guards.

Knife (held in right hand):

- knife can strike straight & forward with it's point (a spear-point),
- knife can cut (untrained),
- knife can strike with all parts, including handle or flat sides of an edge (untrained),
- perhaps in emergency, the cord around handle can be used in combat as well (untrained, should train last, together with wrapping cord around handle properly),
- knife can block with many parts, except for sharp point & edge - if not absolutely neccessary (untrained, alternatives to blocking with sharp point & edge should be trained),

While fighting with a knife, other hand can still be useful:

- can push enemy away into proper distance,
- can pull enemy on a knife's as it strikes,
- can block a strike,
- can protect from being disarmed,
- can execute punches or other attacks (that's where attack from a 'knee-block readiness' Practice can be useful: hand covers knife so it's low... now we do not have to move it upwards into a 'basic guard' before striking),
- can detract enemy's knife to help in a 'dodge' move (moving away from a line of strike), which can be combined with a knife strike,
- perhaps more,

How legs can work during a knife fight?

- legs in proper position allow for stable & fast movement, which allows for optimal distance from an enemy,
- legs propel body, are main factor in a strike's strength (hip movement),
- legs can lower position for even better balance & faster moves,
- proper position of legs, allows for being better prepared for certain attacks, strikes or kicks, perhaps more,
- legs can kick (low kicks which are more than a nuisance to enemy, straight forward kick - these two types of leg attacks mostly),
- legs can block low kicks, or attempt to,
- perhaps more,

... and so on.

Example of a 'Nonlethal Method' using a Fighting Knife & Style, more or less:

Generally if i kicked opponent dynamically in an inner part of a leg, low or high below belt, perhaps aiming at bone (very painful), then put hand on a knife, asking if he wants more in a warning - i think it could convince many that it's not worth to continue with an attack.

Calm Mind, Focus, Precision, Training.

i think, but am no expert.

i think that Calm Mind is a Requirement for Training.

(especially with Weapons, which are harder to Wield & Control than just one's Physical Body).

Otherwise, imprecise, faulty moves are being 'Programmed' into Nervous System & Muscular Behaviorism.

Training should start from slow, simple, but Very Precise & Focused Moves, trained MANY times, then the Speed of Training & Effort can increase.

Goal of this method is to not lose Focus & Precision, and have these Focused & Precise Moves as a part of one's Fighting Style.

With many attempts, body adapts. Muscles are stronger, more enduring, better adopted to fast moves of certain types, nervous system carrying the information better... better coordinating many muscles & faster to fight together, without opposing each other. if neccessary, properly trained nervomuscular system can change moves faster - for example to detract route of a strike by an angle. i think this has use in misdirection (You pretend to Perform a Strike without knowing for sure where it will land, then as You observe opponent, adjust it 'on the fly' if neccessary).

Also, anger during fight makes combat skills more Unreliable.
